Ah, the expat life - culinary school in Paris, teaching English in Prague. Good food, friendships and cities rich with history and architecture. And the companionship of great books when challenging times arise and courage flags. Really enjoyed this piece - and your innovative storytelling.

Awesome love letter to literature! I love Prague! Been there last October for a work exchange thing, and had a ton of fun. I heard the expat community is super active there.

I haven’t read this book but can relate to how books can be roadmaps, guidebooks, companions, and mirrors, and sometimes all at once.

I loved this book, made me want to pack my bags and start culinary school but saw the prices and stuck to learning all I could in the kitchen. I also said I would check out Prague when I was 18 for 2 weeks and that ended up being 2 and a half years. Na zdravi Lisa! Thank you for this.
